Where to find jobs
Parents and carers will be asked about looking for work. Educate yourself about all the places where jobs for students are advertised.
Informal networks are a great way of sourcing work for your children. Family, friends and your own collegues will often know of opportunities available for students.
Where to find jobs:
-
- Family
- Friends
- Neighbours
- Businesses in your local area
- Community notice boards
- Websites
- Tell your friends and colleagues that your child is looking for a job
- Decide where your child would most like to work, encourage them to go there and ask for an interview.
- Encourage your child to visit the workplaces that people tell your child about and to ask for an interview.
- If your child wants a job with one of the big retail or fast food chains, they will probably have to apply on-line, so they should search the name of the company and check the website first.
